Here, you'll be able to see some more shots of the game in action. Heck, we even have images of the game's UI. Promising up to 32 players online, this PSN title looks to bring back everything players loved in the original game ... and then some. Like Warhawk before it, the game will release as both a downloadable and retail title, and will be supported through a number of DLC packs post-release. Considering how successful the SOCOM franchise was on PS2, we're pretty sure that there are going to be many, many people lining up to play Confrontation when it releases this summer fall.

The PSN's conquest to be home of the quirkiest downloadable titles continues. flow may have mesmerized audiences, but Q-Games is trying their own hand at something really new. PixelJunk Eden, the next title in the PSN downloadable collection, is a rather strange platformer to describe. Players control a small creature called a "Grimp" (formed from the combination of "grip" and "jump") to explore a variety of constantly changing scenes. By smashing into enemies, players release pollen that can help the plants grow and transform. As players develop, they'll be able to leap, swing, jump and soar higher than ever, trying to get all the energy and light from a level before time runs out.
There will be ten stages in all, rendered in full 1080p HD graphics. Music will come from an award-winning Japanese artist, Baiyon. Both rumble and tilt will be supported in the DualShock 3 controller, and online trophies and leaderboards will be available. Finally, PSP Remote Play will also be included, a feature also found in PixelJunk Monsters.

Click for high-resolution image. There's a bigger, badder and more badass sequel coming out this year. You guessed it: MotorStorm Pacific Rift. There's more to be excited about in the sequel other than interactive vegetation. If you didn't hear, Pacific Rift is going to have twice the tracks of the original, and four-player split-screen racing (something sorely missing from the original). Pacific Rift is also going to add a number of commonly requested features, such as a Photo Mode, which allows you to take screenshots from within the game to store and share on your PS3. There's also Custom Soundtracks, which allows you to play music from your hard drive, so you can finally drive around thrashing to Britney Spears and Avril Lavigne (if you so choose). Sixteen tracks. Twenty player online multiplayer. Custom soundtracks. Photo mode. Monster trucks. It really looks like Pacific Rift is really going above and beyond the original's offerings. Video, after the cut.

Click to see how this crocodile was made. Play. Create. Share. That's the mantra for the LittleBigPlanet team. We know that the "Play" aspect of the game is swell, but what about the creation aspects? Media Molecule wants to make their creation engine as simple as possible, and they released a few images showing how a deadly crocodile can be constructed using just a few spare parts. Playing with Legos was always fun, but something of this depth and magnitude has been almost unheard of -- at least for a mainstream audience. Hopefully, we'll be able to showcase some original creations of our own when we get our hands on with LittleBigPlanet soon.

Click for high-resolution image. The English language release of SIREN: Blood Curse is being released episodically on the PLAYSTATION Network this Summer. Digital episodic distribution is a brand new territory for survival horror games, one we're intrigued by. Although no pricing information has been set, we did discover that each of the twelve episodes should last about an hour or two in length each, making each episode slightly longer than your standard TV serial. We can't wait to find out more about Blood Curse. Until then, feast your eyes on these brand new screens. Trailer attached, after the cut.

We're going to have to wait until next year to experience the hotly anticipated Killzone 2. Right now, Joystiq's Chris Grant is getting some time with the title (we're insanely jealous!). While we wait to hear back, we'd like to present you the story, straight from the fine folks at Sony. "Two years after the Helghast assault on Vekta, the ISA is taking the fight to the enemy's home world of Helghan. The ISA goal is direct: capture the Helghast leader, Emperor Visari, and bring the Helghast war machine to a halt. Assuming the role of Sev, a battle-hardened veteran and a member of the special forces unit known as the Legion, players will lead a group of highly trained soldiers on a mission to take out the Helghast threat. For Sev and his squad, the invasion of Helghan is just the beginning. Tasked with securing Pyrrhus, the Capital City, the team quickly discovers that the Helghast are a formidable enemy on their home planet. Not only have they adjusted to the planet's hostile conditions, they have also harnessed a source of power they can now use against the ISA. Sev discovers his squad isn't just fighting enemy forces - their fiercest opponent may be the planet itself." From what we saw at our E3 preview, we know exactly how terrifying the weather in Killzone 2 can be. Massive thunderstorms can come in at whim, thanks to a new technology developed by the Helghast. To say that it will make for some epic battles is quite the understatement. Stay tuned for more.

Click for high-resolution image. The brand new console Golden Axe was on display at Sega's media day event. In this modern reimagining of this classic arcade game, players take on the role of Amazon warrior Tyris Flare. In a variety of skimpy outfits, players must vanquish the evil Darth Vader Death Adder. At Tyris' disposal are massive beasts -- and you'll do more than just ride them. These beasts are killing machines that can be used in a variety of ways. These beasts are tools. According to Joystiq, "you don't heal them and care for them; you use them and grab another. But they're also alive. If they get attacked, you'll have to deal with a feisty beastie." Enemies also have access to beasts, so for those that are interested, you can "expect some hot beast-on-beast combat action." Unfortunately, Golden Axe: Beast Rider will not feature co-operative play of any sort. Apparently, this was a conscious effort by the developers at Secret Level, to ensure that they refine the combat just right. Expect co-op in the myriad of sequels to follow, should Beast Rider proves to be successful.

Click for high-resolution image. Hey folks, we've got new images of LittleBigSonic Sonic Unleashed! Pardon the little joke there; it's just funny that every time we see this game (or at least see it at a side view) it reminds us of that world-creation sim by Media Molecule. Perhaps it's the bright and vibrant atmosphere that gives us this impression. Or, maybe it's the image of a tiny Sonic avatar navigating around such gigantic levels. Whatever it is that makes us think this way, the association is nevertheless a positive one. We're definitely keeping both titles on our radar for good reason. Sonic's a bit tougher to keep watch on though ... he's just too fast. Har har har. Just check out the gallery already.

The Metal Gear Solid 4 hype machine seems to have kicked into full gear these past couple of days. MGS4 news has seemingly plastered our blogging wall daily with flash games, peripherals, and more gameplay news. This time, we're continuing the coverage with these new screenshots that look distinctly different from what we've seen before. Most of the previous MGS4 screenshots depict the center of wasted Middle Eastern city. These new screens, however, show a bit of grassland and rocky terrain as well as some indoor shots, too. There's even a shot of Snake controlling Mk. II with a DualShock 3. The picture above suggests you'll be tracking down your stats such as Headshots and CQC take downs. Most interesting is the "flashbacks viewed" stat. Does this mean there will be several playable flashbacks to previous MGS games ... like this one of Shadow Moses?
